Why counselling?

What is counselling?

Counselling is a form of talking therapy where you meet with a professional therapist to talk about emotional issues or mental health challenges that are impacting your life.

Therapy offers a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with someone who is trained to listen. A counsellor will help you find your own solutions, so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others.

What can counselling help with?

Are there any areas in your life causing you distress or overwhelm? You might not understand the root cause of your worries. You just know that your symptoms are holding you back and preventing you from getting on in life.

Counselling can help you deal with many different mental health and emotional challenges, including:

  • anxiety or panic attacks
  • depression
  • grief
  • low self esteem or low confidence
  • bereavement
  • stress
  • trauma and abuse

You might also be experiencing struggles with physical ill health, gender identity, or relationship difficulties or physical intimacy.

Or you might simply be feeling overwhelmed with life in general.

Whatever you’re going through, speaking to a trained therapist can help you make sense of the feelings you’re experiencing, so you can see difficulties in a more manageable way.

What our clients say

"Thank you for making my first experience of counselling such a helpful and supportive one. Online made it more accessible to me as could fit it in within my day."
